Needed pages
Can someone add a link to http://mathlinks.ro/Wiki/index.php/Needed_pages on the main page?
Does anyone need a link to Category:Tutorials on the front page? And it might also be nice to have a link to Category:Stubs so that people can see what already exists but needs work. Some people are much more willing to edit a topic which already has a basic layout and foundation. --Sean 23:25, 26 June 2006 (EDT)
I think we should have a better table of contents. Divide each up into different levels, topics, etc. I went through the one we have now, but found it kind of confusing and hard to use. Many of the pages aren't even linked. They are just pages we get to through the search section. -akimatsu
Transclusion
Could an admin move the little green box on the top right corner of the main page onto a separate template, and then transclude the template instead? I think some users may be interested in listing the current A:WoW (or whatever else the message is saying at the time) on their userpage/subpages, so that way they can just transclude that template onto their userpages. (Even better, I would ask that the Main Page be unprotected since the AoPSWiki basically has never seen vandalism .. but that may be a bit of a stretch). Azjps (talk) 18:39, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
Logo
We need a "real" logo (one that's not "Set $wgLogo to the URL path to your own logo image.") Maybe the AoPS logo? Eli 11:49, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
Well if you think about it that isnt supposed to be there. The Wiki was designed for the AoPS and Mathlinks skins, and not to have the logo tehre in the first place. I't be pretty cool though ^_^. Anaxerzia 21:35, 2 October 2007 (EDT)
We could have math symbols. That's what AoPS and Mathlinks is about, right? Math? 1=2 (talk)
Why?
Out of a great deal of curiosity at coming to my beloved AoPSWiki and finding it has become completely pastel, why did the front page get edited? Why is Article of the Day on the bottom left and WotW in the middle right? Why is the navigation box the only white box on the page? And why is the left side pastel? I thought the whole point of having the right parts pastel was to draw attention to Topics. And as one of the designers of the previous version [so I am biased :) - sorry], why are some sections all one color and some titles differently backgrounded from their content? To me, the overall appearance is better, but the layout is more cluttered and ugly. I think if we made all the left text a different pastel color, made Article part of the right side, and generally decluttered, it be prettier.--solafidefarms 14:31, 27 December 2007 (EST)
- I'm the creator of this design (before implementing it, I discussed this layout via PM with Mr. Rusczyk), and will be happy to take tips from someone much more experienced than I in web design. The navigation, search, and toolbox boxes are unfortunately not part of the article and thus beyond my control, so I can't really do anything about that, sorry. I'm not sure what you mean by the left side being pastel. Which part is the left side; the "Welcome - Getting Started - AotD" side? As for the not-so-prominent AotD and WotW boxes, I think I can fix that: Move AotD to above "Getting started" and WotW to above "Statistics". I don't think that the Article of the Day excerpt would fit in the far right-hand column (when it's not on vacation there's generally a lengthy excerpt there), so it had to go in the main column. As for the titles being differently backgrounded from the content; I did that to make them stand out, for easy navigation. The first one I thought to make a higher level than the others, but maybe I shouldn't have done that. I'll change it to match the others.
- a: I'm not sure I'm more experienced than you, and I know you're more experienced in wikis - I just pulled out my floating divs and rearranged till it looked good to me the first time..
- b: I didn't think you had power over the navbox, but it looks wierd to me to have it white and nothing else white of importance.
- c: Left side is Welcome-GettingStarted-AotD. Title coloring, IMO, isn't necessary; you're already biggering and bolding them, don't need to make them adifferent color too. Finally, why is the text in that column backgrounded with anything other than white? The right side is bgcolored to draw attention to it: Word of the Week, Topics especially. Coloring the left column with the same colors removes that, and so a normal person won't have their eye drawn to Topics since it's not specially colored. Instead, they'll run down the columns just like in a newspaper - and Topics comes last then. I don't mind having boxes, I just mind having the left column bgcolored similarly to the right column.
- Sorry if I come across as annoyed; I'm a little irritable right now. :( --23:22, 28 December 2007 (EST)
- All right, I'll decolor the left side. Temperalxy 18:56, 31 December 2007 (EST)
- Hmmm, I can't seem to decolor the right side with a background:none or transparent. Maybe I'll just color the right side brightly. (but definitely not too brightly) Temperalxy 19:00, 31 December 2007 (EST)
- Many, many thanks :). I love it mostly now. [Though, I didn't complain about the right side having colored backgrounds; I kinda liked the greenish color it used to be. But, I've complained enough; whatever you want :). Again, thanks for changing it :).]

- On a completely unrelated note, good job on hitting new years exactly, Temperal, with your message (time zone difference probably). :) Azjps (talk) 18:11, 1 January 2008 (EST)
AoPSWiki tutorial
Could someone delete "AoPSWiki tutorial"? It is a redirect that has nothing linked to it. --1=2 14:06, 9 February 2008 (EST)
Hi.
I am new to AoPSWiki, so could someone show me around?
Pianogirl
Reading Help:Text formatting and AoPSWiki:Tutorial would help. I realize they're long and perhaps tedious to read, but it's worth it. Welcome, by the way. Temperalxy 21:19, 18 March 2008 (EDT)
WoTW
What happened to the Words of The Week?
Maybe they weren't being looked at. --1=2 20:34, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
