Preparing for MATHCOUNTS or the AMC contests, and having a tough time with number theory problems? Read Art of Problem Solving's Introduction to Number Theory by Mathew Crawford.

Our Problem Series provide preparation for some of the most prominent middle and high school extracurricular programs such as MATHCOUNTS and the American Mathematics Competitions. Students in Problem Series classes will:

  • Develop advanced problem solving skills.
  • Train with instructors who have won national mathematics competitions and trained others to do the same.
  • Interact with students of their own ability.
  • Learn the tools necessary for success on prominent competitions such as MATHCOUNTS and the American Mathematics Competitions.

Visit the enrollment page for our current course offerings. Join our mailing list to learn about new classes as soon as they're listed.

Each Problem Series includes the following:

  • 18 - 24 hours of interactive classes. The classes are held in our moderated Virtual Classroom (check out our Math Jams to try out the software).
  • Class Transcripts.
  • Many additional practice problems. In addition to the problems discussed in class, instructors will provide many additional problems on the class message board for students to try themselves. Students can offer solutions and receive comments and guidance from instructors.
  • Instruction regarding preparation and test-taking techniques.
  • Drop Option. Students who drop the course before the third class will receive a full refund.
